Me and My Suitical

Me and My Suitical

The healing has begun.  I’m starting to get itchy.  The doctor gave me a pretty serious shave (and a seriously big incision that will hopefully turn into a seriously badass scar).  Lots of stitches on my belly and where my boys used to be.  My nut nest hangs a little sadly right now, devoid of it’s previous cargo, less like grapes, more like raisins.  Ah well.

I was sent home in the cone of shame.  Yes, the clear plastic gigantic lampshade that had to be removed before I could hop into the back seat of the Ottomobile (say it out loud, it’s hilarious).  Mum knew that this wouldn’t do, that I was not going to be velcro’d into this contraption for long.  She owns several types of cones – each less medieval than the other – including the Comfy Cone (made of fabric with plastic ribs), a blowup ring for around the neck, and something she bought from the fine folks at Chewy.com, the Suitical.

We started off with the blow-up ring.  Honestly, this wasn’t bad at all, I kind of used it as a neck roll and could snooze easily while wearing it.  And it kept me away from the tummy stitching, but I could still reach the neuter site.  I’m not terribly interested it, so this works well, but that could change.

Starting tomorrow mum has to go back to work.  So I will be alone for a few hours at a time.  And both sites need to be protected from my chewing.  For this, the Suitical is ideal.  So I tried it last night for the first time.

The Suitical is a cotton/lycra onesie that slips over my head, I put my front paws through the holes, and it snaps up around my butt, exposing my tail.  It’s easy to get on, and comfy to wear.  I liked to fold down the collar, turtleneck-style.  The Suitical covers my entire belly, so I cannot chomp on my incisions.

Check out my butt.  Looks good, eh?  Comfy too.

There is a pocket inside that would be appropriate for a weewee pad, but I’m not wearing it for incontinence.  For me it’s protecting my wounds.  I slept through the night with it on, mum occasionally waking up to check to see if I was comfy.  Yep.  No problems here.

So this is a four-paws up rave for the Suitical.  Which mum bought on her own from Chewy.com (this is not a paid endorsement).  Dogs, if you hate wearing the cone of shame, go online while your human parents are out at work (be sure to memorize their credit card information first) and order one.  For your reference, I’m about 75 pounds and I got the XL.  Seriously, this is super.  I’m comfy and mum is confident that I won’t chew out my stitches while she’s at work.  It’s a WIN-WIN.

Love,

Otto Fizz
